An estimate, not a quote. The real number comes after a short conversation about how you actually work — and it has never yet been a surprise.

Questions people actually ask.

  • How much does a website cost in South Africa?

Most small business sites here land between R8,000 and R25,000 once-off. We work differently: about R4,500 upfront to deploy, then a care retainer from R500 a month on a 12-month term. That covers hosting, backups, security patches and monthly update hours, so the total first-year cost is usually lower and the site does not go stale.

  • Do I really pay nothing until I see it?

Correct. We build your redesign first and put the finished site live on a preview address. You only commit once you have clicked through your own brand transformed and decided you want it. If you pass, you owe nothing and we part on good terms.

  • How long does a website take to build?

A typical small business site takes one to two weeks from the point we start building. Because we build before we pitch, the first version is usually already finished by the time you see it. Changes after that are quick — most turn around inside a day.

  • Why a retainer instead of a once-off site?

A once-off site costs roughly three times more upfront and then quietly rots: broken links, stale trading hours, unpatched security. The retainer keeps it quick, current and safe for a fraction of that each month, and you always have someone to call.

  • Do I own my website?

Yes. The site, the content and the domain are yours. The retainer covers hosting and ongoing care, not ownership — if you ever leave, you take the site with you.

  • What happens if I stop the retainer?

You keep the website. We hand over the files and help you move to another host. There is no lock-in clause and nothing is held hostage — we would rather you stayed because the work is good.

  • Do you work with businesses outside Johannesburg?

Yes. The studio is based in Johannesburg and we build for clients across South Africa. Most of a project runs over a screen share and a WhatsApp thread, so distance rarely matters. Our first case study is a Cape Town business.

  • Can I move up a tier later?

Anytime. Most businesses start on Essential or Growth and step up as they get busier. Your site grows with you and no rebuild is required.

  • What if I need more than my monthly hours?

We flag it before touching anything, quote it plainly, and wait for your go-ahead. No silent overages, ever.

  • Can you add online ordering or bookings?

Yes, and one bespoke feature is included in every build rather than sold as an extra. The most popular is a WhatsApp ordering catalogue that collates an order and sends it straight to your phone. Quick-booking widgets and quoting tools are equally common.

Still deciding? See yours built first.

Pricing is easier to judge with the finished site in front of you. That part costs nothing.
